As a holder of many technical certifications, I couldn't agree with you more. I have over 30 years of experience in the computer world. and worked hard to gain numerous certifications and was proud that I held them until one day I had a sales rep bring this young man who held an MCSE certification as I did into the server room and he goes "Ohhh so that's what a switch looks like". After that I only work for companies that can appreciate what I have done in the past. 73

I've used the B&W Apt Dweller antenna for a long time. I'm in a small condo and with my current setup, I have the antenna located INSIDE of my garage on the 2nd floor.
I am very satisified with the results. I have worked west coast and east coast stations from my north Texas location. I've also worked a lot of DX including Aruba, Turks & Caicos, Columbia, Mexico and others.
If you have limited space this antenna will work for you. It works even better with an antenna tuner.

Yes, I did. KQemu is the name of the accelerator kernel module and its installation is covered in the step-by-step link that I posted. Since I've never tried Qemu without it, I can't really see a diference in speed. Compared to VMWare, it is quite good, though.

Hey that is quite a bargain. Beats my recent $60 local purchase of a Radio Shack 2m mobile rig several times over.

Have you tried using your boot disk inside of Qemu so you can program your radio without rebooting?

I first used Enlightenment about five years ago and I thought it was uber cool. I spent hours making my computer look as different as I could imagine, But eventually I went back to Gnome and started working again. Too much eye candy is a distraction. Not to say it isn't fun to play with now and again, but as Geeks, we sometimes forget that the computer is not really a toy, it's a tool.

The only thing keeping Linux out of the mainstream is OEM lockout. When OEM's get out from under the Microsoft stranglehold, then we will see more people using it. Every PC on the market should be $100.00 cheaper with Linux on it and you should have that option.

The Mac OS is just as hard to learn as Linux for a Windows only person. You just have to have an open mind. In my experience, closed source creates closed minds.
